Privacy Policy

BeamTo is a one-time-purchase utility app. It does not require an account, collect analytics, or use advertising identifiers. It does not use data for advertising, marketing, or tracking.

What BeamTo does

BeamTo lets you send a link from your phone to another device (a browser tab, TV, or kiosk) by scanning a QR code. When you share a link into BeamTo, the app's camera scans a QR code shown on the other device, and the link is sent to that device to open.

Camera

BeamTo uses your camera only to scan the QR code shown on the other device. Camera frames are processed on your device to detect the code; BeamTo does not record, save, or transmit video or photos.

Data sent to our servers

When you scan a code, BeamTo briefly sends the shared link to our servers so the other device can receive it. This data:

• contains no account or personal identifier — only the link itself and a random one-time session code
• is only used to pass the link to the other device you're sending it to
• expires and becomes unusable within minutes if unused, and is deleted automatically afterwards

As with any internet service, our hosting provider can see standard connection information such as your IP address when your device contacts our servers.

Service providers and abuse protection

BeamTo runs on Google Firebase (Firestore and Hosting) and uses Firebase App Check to make sure requests come from the real BeamTo app or web page and not from automated abuse. This involves two third parties:

• iOS app: Apple's App Attest and Google Firebase App Check confirm the app is genuine. This exchanges an app-specific attestation key and verification data with Apple and Google. It is not linked to your identity.
• The web page you scan (beamto.xyz): Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise checks that the visitor is a real browser. It may collect hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and your IP address, and send it to Google for analysis. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

These providers process this data only to protect the service, not for advertising.

What BeamTo does not do

• No user accounts or sign-in
• No clipboard access
• No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
• No selling of data, and no sharing with third parties other than the infrastructure and abuse-protection providers listed above
